PROVINCE OF PAVIA – Another weekend full of events in the province of Pavia.
Until Sunday 21 April in Pavia there is International Street Food. Around 30 truck shops, positioned between the Ponte dell’Impero and Piazza Ciceri, will serve the most traditional Italian and international street foods and typical desserts accompanied by craft beers from international breweries. It will be possible to taste, among the many specialities, kebabs, Greek, Indian, Mexican or Peruvian cuisine, Angus burgers, tornado potatoes skewered on a stick, the succulent Apulian bombetta to end on a dessert with Hungarian kurtos. Saturday and Sunday from 12pm to midnight.
Saturday April 20that 11, inLipu Bosco Negri Oasis, inside the Ticino Park, children aged 2 to 5 will be able to take a “dive” into the pond to discover its inhabitants. Saturday April 20thfrom 9.30 to 12.30, a special is scheduled guided tour of the Crtl+Alt Museum in Pavia, in via Riviera. You can take a step back in time to learn about the first “calculators” and follow the evolution of the world of information technology. Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st April Patronal Feast of San Giorgio in Arena Po. There will be Luna Park, charity fishing, food stands organized by the Pro Loco with typical dishes based on fried fish, frogs and traditional specialties (Saturday for dinner and Sunday all day). Then on Saturday evening, DJ party and on Sunday, from 10pm, fireworks show.
The Dance Season of Fraschini Theater in Pavia it closes Saturday 20 April with “Sol Invictus” of the Hervé Koubi Company, which in the name of experimentation combines urban dance and Mediterranean influences. The show, on stage from 8.30pm, celebrates, through dance, the vital energy that we must find within ourselves to face our fears, to face ourselves. It is a generous work, which expresses all the vital energy of the dancers, coming from all continents on a musical creation by Mikael Karlsson and Maxime Bodson, and works from the repertoire of Steve Reich and Beethoven. Saturday April 20th to the Cesare Volta theater in Paviain Piazzale Salvo D’Acquisto, will be staged at 9pm “Red thread”, a ball of stories that unravels with the Improvvisamente Pavia group on stage directed by Chiara Vitti and with music by Alessandra Trentonzi. Sunday April 21st In thethe Lipu Bosco Negri Oasis a meeting will be held in the Ticino Park at 5pm walk in the woods to recharge through moments of silence, pranayama breathing dynamics, observation and direct contact with nature and the pleasure of sharing a relaxing, regenerating and joyful day. Within this experience a Lipu guide will help participants immerse themselves in the sound world of birdsong. Recommended for ages 10 and up. Sunday April 21st the Museum of Electrical Technology of the University of Pavia offers theEscape Room Museum Escape. It will be a journey through time from the origins to the most recent applications of electrical technology with enigmas, clues and puzzles to help Alan Turing. This is an experience designed for an audience over 18 years old. The game, scheduled for three time slots (2.00pm – 4.00pm; 4.00pm – 6.00pm; 6.00pm – 8.00pm), lasts an hour and a half. Sunday April 21stfrom 5pm, in the Malaspina Castle of Varzi will be held on Palio dell’Agnolotto. The protagonist of the solidarity challenge between the Oltrepò restaurants is pasta filled with meat. Chefs Silvano Vanzulli and Danilo Nembrini will coordinate the cuisine assisted by their students. Testimonial of the evening will be the comic actor Valerio Airò Rochelmeyer – already well-known interpreter of Zelig, of the great cinema and of “Il Milanese Imbruttito” – flanked by Davide Calvi and Andrea Defilippi of Oliva Gessi’s “G74”. A technical jury will reward the three best agnolotti. The special prize for the best plating will also be awarded. Reservation required.
Dominicto April 21st in the Nautilus Room of Tromelloit will be on stage at 3 pm “The flour from the diaul is finished in bran“, a dialect comedy whose plot sees an honest worker, Franco, become a millionaire thanks to a fortuitous exchange of bags. Until May 8th, in the Forlanini Hall of the University of Pavia, “È Partecipazione” is open to the public, an exhibition conceived and organized by a group of people linked to the city which intends to offer some testimonies of the good inclusive practices that in the years between 1973 and 1980 brought about turning points in society. The exhibition can be visited every day from 10am to 7pm. Entrance is free.
From 21st to 24th April the Spring fair in Casteggio, with many stalls along the streets of the historic centre, rides for the little ones in Piazza Dante, concerts and dog shows on Sunday in the Oltrexpo exhibition area
From April 21st to 28th Gropello Cairoli there is the “Sagra di San Giorgio“, an event and anniversary particularly felt by the community which organizes many initiatives in the town every year, including the Spring Market which will be held on Sunday 21st April.
