MARINA DI CARRARA – “I make an appeal for the administration to open at least one public toilet in Marina” asks Piero Marchini, municipal coordinator of the Communist Refoundation. “The point – the political exponent points out – is that since the Puccinelli park has been closed for redevelopment works, there is no longer a public bathroom available for the many who come to Marina for a walk”. The public bathrooms on the free Paradiso beach and in the pine forest opposite the exhibition center have in fact been closed since last summer. “And yet – underlines Piero Marchini – we are starting to see tourists, there have been sporting events at the Caravella, the good weather of the last few days has made many flock to the beach, but there is not a single public toilet available”.
Marchini is surprised that the administration has not yet opened even one of the two available bathrooms and reports: “I saw people urinating in the pine forest.” In short, a situation that the secretary of the Communist Refoundation deems unacceptable for a center considered to have a tourist vocation.
