New hospital in Muraglia: the start-up remains a gamble

PESARO «Will the construction of the new hospital start on September 30th? At the latest the polls will begin. Hands off the 100 beds in the Department of Mental Health.” In the Democratic Party’s press conference on healthcare, there was also space to address the issue linked to the new Muraglia hospital. After having identified the studio that will carry out the design, the councilor for healthcare construction Francesco Baldelli, on the occasion of the inauguration of the Muraglia link road, anticipated a few weeks ago that the time for awarding the contract is now ripe. Palazzo Raffaello’s objective is to start the construction site by September 30th, as indicated in the timetable.

The president of the Health Commission, Nicola Baiocchi, added in this regard that the offices are continuing the process necessary to move the departments and set up the construction site. «Starting the construction site for the new hospital means starting the surveys for the war and archaeological verification – claims Biancani – They will put up a small bulldozer and take the photo, so they will say that the works have started. The reality is that today the second tender for the management and spaces linked to the mental health citadel expired on February 28th. Moving 4-5 services like those, which cover thousands of square meters, is complicated. The Region has caused the Villa Fastiggi structure to fail, marching towards the privatization of Orthopaedics.” The dispute over the move of the Mental Health Citadel from Muraglia is reinvigorated, with the back and forth between the Pd exponent and the Fdi regional councilor. The latter reported that the Region will do everything to find structures suited to the needs of those who will have to be transferred. «Baiocchi even had the courage to respond on this issue – insists Biancani – after we have been raising the issue in the regional council with our questions for three years. There are no spaces, we have provided various solutions, they have issued tenders which have been deserted, now they realize that the only solution is the Apsella area. The lesser evil would be to use part of Galantara’s spaces. The project to recover the mental hospital, which had all the spaces, had to start three years ago. Has anyone started a sharing process with staff and families? Zero.

The accusations
