500 of them at the debate with Zerocalcare – Teramo

GIULIANOVA. On Wednesday afternoon the sea amphitheater was the stage for a lively public debate, with almost 500 people gathered, for the Campetto Occupied initiative which saw the participation of the well-known cartoonist Zero limestone. During the event, between autographs and selfies, themes of great social impact were addressed with irony and depth, ranging from the occupied spaces where the artist himself declared he took his first steps, to the serious hardship in Italian prisons, to housing emergency, repression and the Palestinian question. Zerocalcare, to the century Michele Rechunderlined the importance of the spaces occupied in the formation of his art: «They are the same spaces in which I grew up», he stated, «and the themes are those addressed in my comics, which derive precisely from those environments that nourished the My drawings”.
During the meeting, numerous questions were asked to the cartoonist regarding both his personal and artistic experience, as well as curiosities related to the themes addressed in his works, including the successful TV series “Tear Along the Edges”, broadcast on Netflix. Zerocalcare also announced that the second season of the series is not expected soon and at the same time expressed gratitude for the success achieved so far. «If the spaces hadn’t been occupied», underlined the artist, «I wouldn’t have been able to carry out this job». The event continued until late in the evening in the occupied Campetto venue in via dei Cedri, with the music of Osvaldo Bianchi and a fundraiser for children in difficulty through which the thirty luckiest won a drawing created by Zerocalcare.
