Under a London drizzle the political temperature rises Basilicata, voting for the regional elections on Sunday and Monday. From today we are silent. Not that the three candidates made much noise: the outgoing governor and former general of the financial police, Vito Bardi for the centre-right extended to Iv, Azione and with the support of Marcello Pittella, the champion of preferences involved and then acquitted in the Lucanian sanitopoli; the president of the province of Matera and mayor of Montalbano Jonico, Piero Marrese supported by the centre-left; and Eustachio Follia, by Volt.
Much more was said about the tormented selection of Bardi’s opponents, marked by ten crossed vetoes and the “farewell” of the former governor dem Pittella who was counting on a re-nomination.
The electoral base is small: there are 567,959 eligible voters. Less than just the over 65 voters in Rome. But the stakes inside and outside the coalitions are high.

Technical enlargement tests? With Marrese will run Pd, M5s, Avs-Si-Psi, Basilicata Possibile, Basilicata Casa Comune, Basilicata Unita. Follia will only count on the pan-European Volt party.
Voting takes place from 7am to 11pm on Sunday and from 7am to 3pm on Monday to also elect 20 regional councilors (13 for the province of Potenza and 7 for Matera). In the last elections the first party was the M5S with 20.2, then the League with 19.2. Who will win this time should be known already on Monday evening.
