an Anniversary of Excellence and Education

(ANS – Pordenone) – The celebrations of the “Collegio Don Bosco” in Pordenone continue due to its first 100 years of activity: after the solemn start on 31 January 2024, the events continue, always receiving an excellent response from the city. “This special anniversary is an opportunity to reflect on the noble educational traditions that have characterized this institution during these first hundred years of history” testify the Salesians active in the Friulian city.

Numerous educational events, enriched by illustrious speakers are at the center of the celebrations. Through conferences, seminars and cultural events, citizens are being offered an opportunity to delve deeper into educational issues of primary importance.

In recent days, “Don Bosco” offered the city a brilliant theatrical show with the famous actor Giovanni Sciofoni on the theme of sanctity: an evening that was an opportunity for fun but also for reflection for all participants. The next cultural event will be a great musical gala to be held on June 9th at the “Teatro Verdi” in Pordenone, held by the Pordenone Chamber Orchestra and the Arrigoni String Academy. The evening will be opened by the children of the musical scientific project of the same Salesian institute.

In autumn, there will be a day of celebration involving all the past pupils of the Salesian school and the city authorities. On this occasion, a commemorative photographic exhibition will be set up inside the Don Bosco College to recall the salient episodes of the history of the institute, offering a fascinating look at the moments that have shaped its identity over the years.

In the same period, a book will be presented that will tell the history of the house in detail, testifying to its positive impact on the lives of generations of students.

“The Don Bosco College would like to thank the Municipality of Pordenone and the Friuli Foundation for their generous contribution, which made the realization of this extraordinary event possible. Furthermore, we are grateful for the precious collaboration of the Panorama Association, which made a rich and diversified program possible” reports Don Emanuele Zof, Delegate for Social Communication of the “San Marco” Salesian Province of North-East Italy (INE) , to which the work belongs.
