An award to a poet capable of winning the national literary prize “Maria Fuxa – Città di Alia”. This is what the mayor Giacomo Tranchida and the councilor Giuseppe Virzì recognized the poet Nino Barone when they received him at the Municipality.
With his works “Cucchi di Vita” and “Arrivu Truina”, Barone, in fact, won the coveted prize and it is not the first time that Barone has been celebrated in the literary field; in fact, the poet has already been awarded numerous other prestigious awards during his poetic journey. The award, whose artistic direction is curated by Francesca Albergamo, is inspired by the figure of Maria Fuxa, a woman and poet of extraordinary uniqueness, thus giving full expression to her existence and her work through the homage to writing talents.
In this year’s edition, Barone shares the podium with another excellent representative of Sicilian poetry, the Erice poet Flora Restivo, who ranked second in the same section.
Barone’s triumph at the “Maria Fuxa – Città di Alia” National Literary Award is further evidence of his extraordinary contribution to Sicilian and national literary culture.
