Here’s how much Torino spent on agent commissions: it’s among the last in Serie A

How much does Taurus spend on agent commission fees? Not much, compared to all the other Serie A teams

In modern football, a large part of the market is made by agents. Torino has recently published the budget for 2023. From what emerges, in commission expenses for agents, the Granata have spent 4.894 million euros. All this is money that the club, when signing a player, had to shell out to the agent. Compared to the other Serie A teams, Toro spent very little. In last place in this special ranking we find Frosinone, with 2.7 million spent. Then there are Lecce (3.2) and Cagliari (4.6). Turin, Empoli and Sassuolo instead spent 4.9 million euros. Immediately above are Monza (6.4) and Hellas Verona (7). Very few teams, other than Toro, have spent less than 5 million.

The teams that spent the most

Let’s now enter the top 12. Salernitana who spent 8 million, below Lazio at 9.1. Then we find Genoa (10.4), Bologna (10.5) and Udinese (11.2). Ranking led by Inter, who spent a monstrous sum of 34.8 million euros on agents. On the podium Juventus (23.1) and Fiorentina (15.4). In the middle we find Naples (13.7), Atalanta (14.8), Milan and Rome (15.3). These are sobering numbers.

Little expense: a good thing or a bad thing?

As emerges from the data, these expenses do not always correspond to sporting results. Just look at Salernitana and Udinese, for example. Spending little on agents nowadays allows you to invest more in other aspects. This is therefore not a negative thing. But it is also true that the best players have agents who charge. If in a year, less than 5 million is spent on agents, big names cannot join the team. The circle narrows and the opportunities are fewer. The way of doing the market changes and consequently, there are more risks, i.e. more bets.
