“The mayoral candidates are interested in other things, they make base-league controversies, and they hide behind the fact that the competences are not municipal. In reality, the mayor is primarily responsible for health and for his own citizens, therefore he must be politically active and with specific budget proposals to comply with the mandate established by law” says Alessandro De Giuli, candidate for Mayor on the Firenze Rinasce list

“From 2020 to 2022, 32,500 beds were cut in Italian hospitals and between 2019 and 2022, over 11,000 doctors left public facilities. In the same period, 95 (9%) hospitals were closed. While in 2024, Health Fund financing increased in absolute terms compared to 2021 but decreased relative to GDP and is eroded by inflation. The data presented by the 75 scientific societies of hospital and university clinicians (FoSSC) are impressive and tell us about the systematic dismantling of the National Health Service, in a period, moreover, in which, due to economic difficulties, an ever-increasing number of Tuscans and Florentines he even gives up treatment. It is a scandal that there is no mention of all this in the electoral campaign for the next local elections” denounces Alessandro De Giuli, mayoral candidate for the Firenze Rinasce civic list.

“The mayoral candidates are interested in other things, they make base-league controversies, and they hide behind the fact that the competences are not municipal. In reality, the mayor is primarily responsible for the health of his citizens, so he must be active politically and with specific budget proposals to comply with the mandate established by law.” adds De Giuli.

“The solutions we propose are simple: an end to the limited number of people in medicine, an end to the healthcare austerity promoted by the right and the left, higher salaries for paramedics, a stop to outsourcing, a decisive stance against the creeping and increasingly evident privatization of public health” concludes De Giuli”.
