Doctors and technicians from both the University Hospital and the ASP will be available to women who wish to undergo mammographic screening, breast ultrasound, screening for PAP Test and HPV/DNA Test. Initiatives of this kind declared the Rector Spatari, “they are aimed above all at those citizens who find themselves in a difficult situation and therefore cannot access specialist facilities”.

This initiative does not aim to solve the problem of long waiting lists, declared the Rector but, “an opportunity to take better care of oneself and understand whether mild or more complex pathologies are revealed”. Do it in the square, concluded Spatari “it draws the attention of those who, either for work reasons or for simple personal or recreational activities, cross one of the most important squares in the city”.blank

The municipality of Messina communicated Councilor Calafiore, “she has always been close to and supported all those initiatives related to prevention and personal care”. All the institutional sites and associations that collaborate with the Municipality, concluded the councilor, “they publicized and spread this event”.

The ASP also stated Giuseppe Ciucci, “pays great attention to prevention initiatives with a view to moving away from the concept of hospital centrality and aiming for local medicine”.

Giorgio Giulio Santonocito AOU commissioner, in thanking the university professionals who will make their activities available to carry out free screenings and visits, “wanted to underline the importance of prevention carried out in the area precisely to bring citizens a service that will serve not to prevent pathologies but to ascertain whether any diseases exist and therefore treat them”.
