The Circolo Culturale Empedocleo of Agrigento will host, on Monday 22 April at 5.30 pm, the presentation of the book “Raccontami Agrigento” by Elio Di Bella, local historian and author. The event takes place as part of the cultural event “30 books in 30 days”, promoted by BCsicilia (Cultural Heritage of Sicily).
“Tell me about Agrigento” is not just a history book, but a vibrant anthology that collects experiences and stories of the people of Agrigento, offering an authentic and vivid narrative that captures the profound essence of the city’s identity. Through the voices of citizens, the daily life and historical events that have shaped the city are illustrated, presenting an intimate portrait of Agrigento and its inhabitants.
The event will be introduced by a greeting from the president of the Circolo Culturale Empedocleo, Giuseppe Adamo, and will see the participation of Benedetto Comparetto, Alberto Todaro, Salvatore Indelicato and Giuseppina Mendola from Agrigento, who will share their youthful memories in a dialogue full of anecdotes and reflections from the post-war period until the early seventies. This collective narrative, which aims to go beyond simple nostalgia, will touch on current and significant themes of city life. The closing of the works is entrusted to Alfonso Lo Cascio, regional manager of BCsicilia.
