Bags, wallets, toys, sunglasses, shoes, clothing including underwear: everything “signed” by the most famous fashion houses, starting with the Italian ones, too bad that brands, logos and the products themselves were fakes, promptly destroyed by officials of the Customs and Monopolies Agency (ADM) of Perugia.

The latest intervention dates back to Wednesday afternoon when, at the plants of the company owned by the Municipality of Perugia for waste disposal services, the ADM officials carried out an initial destruction of the counterfeit materials seized in recent times together with the soldiers of the Provincial Command of the Guardia di Finanza in the customs areas of the “San Francesco d’Assisi” International Airport.

Dozens of fake products which, during baggage checks following passengers in transit from the airport conducted by Customs and the GdF, were found to be in violation of intellectual property rights and even dangerous for the health of consumers. Goods which, if original, would have had a value of several thousand euros. The processed foreign tobaccos and loose tobacco seized in recent months at the Umbrian airport were also destroyed.

The destruction of the goods already subjected to administrative seizure took place with control from the ground and from the control room where, thanks to monitors, it is possible to follow every phase of the disintegration. In the next few days, a second destruction of counterfeit goods subjected to administrative seizure will take place.

The intervention at the Perugia disposal company took place the day after the National Day of Made in Italy established with Framework Law 206/2023 and which is celebrated on 15 April, the anniversary of the birth of Leonardo Da Vinci.
