Everything about the wolf, between scientific truths and urban legends / Cesena / Home

The sightings of wolves in the plains they are increasingly frequent. Recently theIspra (Higher Institute for Environmental Protection and Research) has announced the results of the first national monitoring which was held between 2020 and 2021, which allows us to estimate the wolf population in our country in approximately three thousand specimens, and its changes over time. The numbers speak of a growth of this species, now protected after it almost reached extinction in the 1970s. But cohabitation with more anthropized areas like ours is not easy.

The section of Italian Alpine Club of Cesena (CAI) promotes an information evening on this important predator which will be held this evening, Friday April 19that 8.45 pm, in the hall Cesuola spacein via Ponte Abbadesse 451 in Cesena.

The conference entitled “Wolves in fairy tales are scary, but in reality?” will be held by Fabio Dall’Osso, veterinary surgeon and doctor of animal production and wildlife control. It will be an in-depth comparison between the scientific truths and the Metropolitan legends concerning the wolf. The meeting is sponsored by the Municipality of Cesena and the Large Carnivores Group of the CAI.

The event, open to everyone, not just CAI members, is aimed at providing scientific and cultural support for reduce critical issues connected to the return of the wolf to the low hills and plains.
