In Imola new equipment in the playgrounds

The Municipality of Imola pays constant attention to the efficiency and availability of spaces for play in city parks, while having to recognize that the problem of maintenance of existing structures is increasingly urgent, given the increase in costs and often the difficulty in obtaining materials, in the face of the often high age of the games and episodes of vandalism .

The interventions of renovation of the games and creation of new areas they are supported by the Municipality with its own resources and by AreaBlu spa, the in-house company that deals with the management and maintenance of real estate assets, the design of public works, the redevelopment of municipal greenery, interventions on roads and cemetery services.

Furthermore, for two years, the Administration has started a search process for sponsors who offer a economic or technical support to the installation of recreational or even sports equipment in green areas.

Some interventions on green areas have been included in the PNRRand foresee the redevelopment of parks important games in Imola by extension, such as the Rambaldi Garden or the Acque Minerali park. In the meantime, however, the renovation and implementation activity continues even in small areas: through the sponsorship call, the new play area in Via Volta and the fitness equipment at the “Giovannini” Social Center were opened between 2022 and 2023; with municipal resources the play areas of the “La Stalla” and “Bocciofila” social centers

The latest interventions in the playgrounds in Imola

The last play areas open at the end of the year they are found in three green areasin different areas of the city, with the installation of multifunction games suitable for children aged 3 to 12 years.

For each intervention, the works included the creation of the support area with a 15 cm thick concrete slab with electro-welded mesh, on which the equipment was anchored.

The anti-trauma cast rubber surfacein SBR and partly EPDM, in different shades of green, for a thickness of 5+1 cm, adequate for the fall height expected for each game, which goes from 120 to 150 cm.

The equipment choices have an aluminum and galvanized steel structure, with 95×95 mm poles and 15 mm HPDE plastic parts. The other elements that complete the game are the internally reinforced nylon ropes, the polyethylene slides and the stainless steel chains.

The Park of Via Serraglio in Imola, a place full of greenery and tranquility, hosts a play area which stands out for its strategic position. Offers a variety of play structures ranging from classic swings to modern play castles. The special events and initiatives linked to this area create a vibrant environment, promoting interaction between the community and consolidating the sense of belonging.

In the appurtenances of PalaGenius – the roller skating structure damaged by last summer’s bad weather and recently restored – the Park PalaGenius represents a further opportunity for connection between sport and gaming.

The facilities in the area encourage not only movement but also the development of creativity in a safe environment where parents can also find their space.

The Municipality of Imola has placed it in the playground another multifunctional structure, more complex than the previous one, on which up to 16 children can play; in this case the anti-trauma surface reaches 84 m2.

Even bigger the game placed in the garden dedicated to the Chernobyl victims. The project represents a sensitive initiative that includes historical memory in a recreational/playful space. This fusion creates a unique environment that fosters connection between past generations and stimulates historical awareness even among younger age groups.

The castle placed in this park it accommodates up to 18 children and is surrounded by 93 m2 of anti-trauma flooring.

The work of the Municipality of Imola continues with other installations and the replacement of damaged, vandalized or simply aged equipment. The next interventions, also supported by the companies that respond to the call for sponsorship, will be carried out by giving priority to green spaces which present qualitative and quantitative deficiencies in recreational facilities and those with the highest use.
