PALERMO – Michele Mignani’s rosanero are ready to host Parma within the friendly walls of the “Renzo Barbera” stadium early on Friday evening. After draws against Sampdoria and Cosenza, Palermo is still looking for their first victory since the new former Bari coach arrived on the bench. The team from the Sicilian capital is looking for points for the final rush of Serie B which will propel the teams to the subsequent playoffs.
Brunori and his teammates have brought home two draws since the arrival of the new technical guide in Palermo. Mister Mignani is trying to make his mark on the Rosanero team with the aim of earning as many points as possible in the remaining matches of the regular season of the cadet championship. The Sicilians are in sixth place in the standings with 51 points; Catanzaro, fifth in the ranking, is at 55.
The leaders of the cadet series arrive in Palermo with 69 points. Fabio Pecchia’s Parma wants to extend their lead on second-placed Como (64) and achieve mathematical promotion to Serie A as soon as possible. In the last five matches the Ducali have recorded three victories, one draw and one defeat (the latter against Vivarini’s Calabrians on April 1st). In the first leg the Rosanero came close to winning at the “Tardini”, but Parma grabbed the final 3-3 just moments before the end of the match.
Probable lineups
Palermo should continue with the three-man line in terms of defence, with the return of Lucioni who served his suspension. The same goes for Di Mariano, who will take his place as “fifth” in midfield on the right lane. In the median run-off between Gomes and Stulac, while the midfielders will be Segre and Di Francesco (the latter with lots of freedom of movement). Attacking pair again with Brunori and Mancuso.
Mister Pecchia should line up his team with the usual 4-2-3-1. Lots and lots of quality in the offensive department for the Crusaders, who will have to do without center forward Bonny due to disqualification. Charpentier is eager to replace him. The trio of Man, Bernabé and Mihaila who play behind the striker were also on the pitch from the first minute.
