MACERATA The municipal councilor of the “Sandro Parcaroli” list mayor” Sabrina De Padova formalized the transition to the mixed group yesterday afternoon in the Council. The final straw in a relationship that has been problematic for months is the mayor’s support for councilor Katiuscia Cassetta for the issue of the municipal library: «As a municipal and city councilor – wrote De Padova – I am stunned by the attitude of a mayor who protects and continually defends the same councillor, even exposing himself publicly.”

The attack

«A councilor for culture who, among other things, has not carried out her mandate excellently, who has not always adequately managed the money of the citizens of Macerata, faced with a liability of 200,000 euros a year, failing to publish the financial statements of the Sferisterio, which have been continuously requested for two years. I am astonished – she adds – that a mayor threatens to resign if the library regulation proposed by the aforementioned councilor is not approved, communicating the news with an ultimatum to the newspapers, thus influencing the majority councillors, even in the face of the loss of funding, since the modification could have been presented within the appropriate timeframe.”

The questions

De Padova finally notes: «I am astounded that a mayor acts as a shield for the councilor often answering questions in her place. The same mayor who on several occasions did not intervene for matters of much more importance. I do not agree with some of the behavior adopted in the city council, where a lack of respect towards the citizens of Macerata, residents in via Panfilo, was evident, who mobilized three times to prevent a green area from becoming buildable, and went to the council municipal council, to try to assert their rights, where the variation to the Prg in via Panfilo was postponed three times, perhaps due to fear of an appeal to the TAR. Unfortunately, the legal costs are always borne by the unfortunate citizens who are forced to turn to the Administrative Court to assert their reasons, having to then bear the costs privately and as taxpayers”. And then he recalls the controversy over the external tables of the Hab pub: «Unfortunately, the trader Perini, owner of the Hab pub, had to endure the same situation, who had to appeal to the Regional Administrative Court despite the fact that the undersigned tried to make the council aware of the validity of his convictions and also based on the opinion of the traffic police.”
