“DarkSide. Secret History of Italy”, the fourth meeting brings into the Erba massacre

New appointment with free entry for the new cycle of historical and cultural in-depth meetings on current affairs promoted by the Department of Culture of the Municipality of Vasanello in collaboration with the information format “DarkSide. Secret History of Italy”, the media partnership of TusciaWeb and the participation of Nero Criminale. That’s what Friday 19 April at 6pm in the Church of the Star he will lead those present into the Erba massacre, the case of multiple murder which occurred in the province of Como on 11 December 2006 and which has fully entered the list of the great crime cases of recent history as a massacre of unprecedented violence for which spouses Olindo Romano and Rosa Bazzi were sentenced to life imprisonment.

A few days after the discussion of the requests for review of the sentence and the postponement to July before the judges of the Court of Appeal of Brescia for any replies on the request – the Council Chamber will decide – and despite the degrees of judgment and the confession made, many years later the case still divides public opinion. Magistrate Cuno Tarfusser, of the Milan Prosecutor’s Office, went against all his colleagues in maintaining that the trial needs to be redone and that the culprits should be looked for elsewhere. We will talk about this together with Olindo Romano’s lawyer, Fabio Schembrito the journalist of “Who saw it?” Imma Giulianito the criminologist Valentina Marsella and to the criminologist and Forensic Police agent Armando Palmegiani.

The 2024 edition of the event opened with the presentation of the book “The rules of the game. From terrorism to Russian spies: how offensive counter-espionage protected Italians” (Rizzoli, 2023) by secret agent Marco Mancini, continued with the meeting “Monster of Florence, the infinite nightmare” with the former deputy prosecutor Giuliano Mignini, the lawyer Michele Antognoni and the lawyer Valter Biscotti, and also the presentation of the books “MM Nome in codice Unico” (La Nave di Teseo, 2023) by General Mario Mori and Fabio Ghiberti edited by Giovanni Negri and “The truth about the mafia-procurement dossier. History, contents, opposition to the investigation that could have changed Italy” (Piemme, 2023) written by Mori together with Captain Giuseppe De Donno.
