Vittorio Veneto, Miatto council torpedoed by Northern League members | Today Treviso | News

VITTORIO VENETOThe change to the three-year public works program was rejected and that of the three-year program of purchases of supplies and services which we contemplated, among others, the social intervention on the building in via Galilei, the increase in the allocation of resources for the closure of the Forcal landfill and for the project financing of the lighting public. The change to the budget was rejected which contemplated the allocation, among many items, of resources to support the municipal elections and to launch the call for tenders to co-support public events in the coming months, from the celebrations for Santa Augusta to the Vi-Ve in Vintage, from summer concerts to the Carnival. The adoption of the variant aimed at placing a pre-arranged constraint on the expropriation of the Forcal landfill has lapsed, having been rejected to then create, once the land has been acquired by the municipality, an energy community. Finally, the act of direction for the purchase of some vacant shops located on the ground floor of the Quadrilatero was rejected.

Last night, on Wednesday, the central points of the Miatto council’s agenda were rejected by a majority with the votes of the opposition and the Northern League councilors Mario Rosser, Roberto Parrella, Alberto Pagotto and Giancarlo Scottà. Tensions in the chamber between the council and the opposition and between the council and the League, which until recently was part of the same majority. The electoral campaign thus got to the heart of things, with the conflict heated within the outgoing majority itself.

Since the discussion of the dup il Northern League group leader Mario Rosset he made it clear how he and his other Northern League colleagues would vote. «A slight variation: we expected something more, for example in terms of safety or lowering the tax burden – said Rosset in the chamber -. Too many public works interventions have been moved over the years. Our impression is that we leave a poorer city than when we arrived». Concept taken from PD group leader Marco Dus: «His administration – he said to the mayor Antonio Miatto – leaves a poorer city. It was better to proceed with the ordinary activity of the expiring administration.” «In addition to a poorer city – added the councilor Mirella Balliana (Civic Rebirth) -, we find ourselves with a city in decline. And the negative result of this council is proven by the split in the majority.” «I am of the opposite opinion – the mayor replied to those who said that the city is now poorer -: we have managed to close the derivatives and the city has freed itself from many old problems. The next mayor will find a richer city, richer than a theatre, less debt and fewer problems.” Words that did not convince Rosset: «The dup is an act of political direction and of trust by the council towards the council – he declared -. And we, me, Parrella, Pagotto and Scottà, do not renew our trust in the council.” Then the vote, in which the votes against prevailed (10).

Then the change to the budget illustrated by the deputy mayor Gianluca Posocco. «In my opinion it is acceptable to encourage the organization of events that require planning» he said in the introduction after having illustrated the various items. Through the voice of the municipal manager of the finance sector, Sarri, it was explained that despite the vote against the previous point, the variation would have been voted on in its entirety as it could not be amended, but at the next council meeting the points included in the dup would have to be removed. Giulio De Antoni (civic Dus) asked for a suspension of the session. Upon his return Rosset reiterated “consistency” from the League and therefore the vote against. «I take note – replied the councilor Gianantonio Da Re, former Lega – of the vote against. We will lose one million euros of Pnrr funds for the Forcal landfill, 2.5 million euros from the Piazzoni building, 250 thousand euros for the building in via Galilei: yes, it will be a poorer city.” «It’s not true – he replied De Antoni -, we will not lose funding. The Pnrr funds for the landfill have been there for a year.” «These are important political acts – he stated Dus -: there was time and way to plan them. 45 days before the elections they are purely political acts.” Here too, 10 against at the time of the vote, a point that did not pass.

As for the variation for the former landfill, the point – as was explained by the municipal secretary – has lapsed, as the economic coverage included in the rejected budget variation has ceased.

Finally, the other rejection of the act of direction for the purchase of vacant shops in the Quadrilatero. Councilor Ennio Antiga he illustrated the proposal to purchase the vacant shops on the ground floor located in the portion of the condominium where the municipality already has space to move the registry office here. The council had considered purchasing the spaces of the former stationery shop, the former Mazzonetto and the self-service bar. The owner, unique for all these spaces, said he was interested in selling. In the chamber the opposition pointed out that it is not by positioning offices that are closed in the afternoon and on weekends that the Quadrilatero is going to liven up. However, the operation, a few weeks before the vote, did not convince either the opposition or the Northern League councilors who rejected the operation.
