L’AQUILA – After Monday’s city council meeting, the long-distance clash over differentiated autonomy continues. “The right has avoided the confrontation in the city’s highest meeting, it is unacceptable”. Thus the center-left in a press conference yesterday morning at Palazzo Margherita.
“We won’t stop, we will preside over Palazzo Margherita on the day of the vote in the Chamber” announced Pezzopane, “and we will organize events to inform the population”.
“If they are so convinced that they are doing good for Abruzzo and the internal areas, why did Marsilio, Biondi, the parliamentarians who with their vote are splitting Italy, impoverishing the South and our land, not come to the city council specifically requested by us, accepting the public discussion on such a serious decision for our territories?”
Councilor Verini (Action) added: “With this law we want to do to schools what has already been done to healthcare. No longer one national health system but 20 regional health systems that function based on the wealth of the individual regions. If this model is applied to schools we will have 20 types of education and, in regions like Abruzzo which is not Lombardy nor other rich regions in the north, there will be a public school (like healthcare) without resources that will function poorly” .
“As minorities – underlined Scimia – we have widely argued our opposition. In a nutshell, behind Differentiated Autonomy lies a dangerous meaning, that of a political project of division, of selfishness, of systematic impoverishment of already sorely tested territories. There is a risk of building Chinese walls between regions.
“The projections – added Albano – tell us that at least 400 million less will arrive in Abruzzo every year, this alone would be enough to understand that this is a wrong reform. After all, it is promoted by the same ruling class that in Abruzzo and L’Aquila in particular has crippled public healthcare, as demonstrated by the 66 million euro debt of the local health authority or the data on active and passive mobility which show 15 million and broken negative balance. In light of these numbers, with what credibility does the center-right propose a reform to Abruzzo that will further impoverish our region?”.
