The Constitution translated in Prato for the first time in its entirety will be delivered to the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, on Friday afternoon, 19 April, using the symbolic language of Augmentative Alternative Communication (CAA).
The delivery, which will take place at the Quirinale, will be carried out by a delegation led by the president of the Cassa di Risparmio Foundation, Diana Toccafondi and by the director of the Gandhi Institute, Mario Battiato. Dr. Adriana Cogode, prefect emeritus of Prato, who shared and supported the project, will also participate.
The project was promoted by the Cassa di Risparmio di Prato Foundation which supported the publication of the volume, and was created by the Gandhi Comprehensive Institute of Prato. The printing of the volume, also made available on the web and downloadable for free, was entrusted to Gli Ori-Editori contemporari.
The objective of inclusion, and therefore the full application of article 3 of the Constitution, motivated the choice to translate and make available all 139 articles (through a language understandable by all. The term CAA indicates, in fact, the strategies which, through the use of a codified symbolic language, can simplify and improve the communication of all people who have difficulties, temporary or permanent, in using the most common communication channels.
