from Altopascio to the Serchio Valley, here’s where they will be

Several mayors of the province of Lucca are asking for more video surveillance cameras, to combat the crime phenomena that occur in their respective territories. For this reason the Prefecture, in interpreting the heartfelt appeal coming from the local administrators, asks the Ministry of the Interior for approval to install 114 new cameras:

of these, 30 are planned for the area alone Altopascio, on the border with the province of Pistoia; 22 for the area of Versilia (Camaiore and Massarosa), 11 per Sheds and the remaining 51 for the Serchio Valley (22 in Coreglia Antelminelli, 5 in Gallicano, 9 in Sillano Giuncugnano and 15 requested by the Union of Municipalities of Garfagnana).

This is the outcome of the summit held on Wednesday morning, directed by the prefect of Lucca Giusi Scaduto, in the presence of the police and – via videoconference – of the various local administrators involved.

«The mayors and representatives of the Municipalities – explains a note from the Prefecture – illustrated the proposal for the installation and integration of video surveillance systems in the territory of relative competence, requesting co-financing from the Ministry of the Interior to which all the documentation was sent ».

Prefect Scaduto expresses his appreciation for «these important initiatives aimed at improving public safety in strategic points of the territory of those municipalities, as technology has proven to be an excellent aid in identifying the perpetrators of crimes and a deterrent for acts of vandalism”.
