Volotea expands its Roman portfolio with Fiumicino-Brest

Volotea will inaugurate tomorrow, Thursday 18 April, the connection to Brest from Rome Fiumicino airport. The northwestern city of France will be reachable with two weekly frequenciesThursday and Sunday.

With a’total offer of over 20 thousand seats for salethe vector expands its portfolio of destinations available from the Roman airport and strengthens its presence in Leonardo da Vinci airport, helping to support the flow of incoming tourists towards the capital. For 2024 there are 8 cities connected by Volotea from the Roman airport: 1 in Italy (Olbia), 6 in France (Bordeaux, Brest – new 2024, Lille, Lourdes/Tarbes, Nantes and Strasbourg) and 1 in Spain (Bilbao) .

Volotea’s numbers

Volotea flies to more than 110 airports and has bases in 21 medium-sized European cities. In 2024 it will operate over 450 routes (of which more than half are exclusive), will offer between 12.5 and 13 million seats (between 12% and 16% more than in 2023) and will carry out around 80 thousand flights. The company has also expanded its fleet and will operate 44 Airbus A319s and A320s.

Sustainability objectives

On the sustainability front it intends to achieve the objective of reduce direct CO2 emissions per passenger-kilometre by 50% by 2025with five years ahead of the initial schedule. Furthermore, it has set a new goal: to reduce emissions by 58% by 2030.

To date, it has launched over 50 sustainability initiatives that have resulted in a reduction of its carbon footprint per passenger per kilometer by more than 45%.
