Third appointment with “Inspections”, an art, writing and science initiative in Messina. In the showcase a watercolor by Fabrizio Ciappina.
The shop window of the Studio/Anastasio in via Calamech 14 as a place of dialogue, a device for contact with the changing and plural exterior such as a city street, the setting for the “Inspections” program which, through the plurality of voices and languages of contemporary arts, with artists, photographers, architects, poets, scientists, philosophers and historians, wants to activate free practices of research, narration and testimony of the feeling that animates the shores of the Strait, for a renewed pact with the sea and with one’s own time .
In the work proposed by Fabrizio Ciappina, a watercolour, the landscape manifests itself as an invention, an ideal and imaginative construction that goes beyond the physical data and settles on the interpretative one, an idea of landscape as a cultural product originating from the superposition of several elements, between them apparently tending towards a conflictual relationship, but which instead give rise to the revelation of a writing that recounts a marvelous synthesis between nature and artifice.
The Strait, immersed in this poetic dimension, appears in fragments through its multiple and unpredictable forms.
