Potenza, the speed camera in Varco d’Izzo is compliant. The court accepts the Municipality’s appeal

With ruling 466/2024, the Court of Potenza declared that the speed camera installed in Varco D’Izzo in Potenza is compliant. The press office of the Municipality announced this in a note.

We read in the sentence of the first civil section: “to guarantee compliance with speed limits on the roads, the use of equipment approved by the Ministry of Public Works is permitted, considering the appeal of the Municipality of Potenza to be well founded, and worthy of acceptance, with consequent complete reform of the contested Justice of the Peace ruling, a ruling which had annulled a report from the local police of the Lucanian capital, relating to an infringement detected by the speed camera located in the section of the SS 7 Var/B of Potenza ( locality Varco d’Izzo), on the assumption that the speed camera had to be approved and not approved. The device was issued after having carefully analyzed the rules of the Highway Code and the related execution and implementation Regulations regarding the approval and homologation of speed detection equipment”.

We read in the Municipality’s note that there have been countless sentences of the Justices of the Peace already appealed by the Institution, – continues Santoro – which have annulled the reports issued by the local Police, often condemning the Institution to pay the legal costs.
