Sunday 21 April the Soliera Habitatthe cultural center in via Berlinguer 201, will be the scene of a day of celebration dedicated to peace and the themes of the Resistancelinked to the anniversary of Liberation Day. Starting from 11am, the program includes first a conference, then a ‘resistant’ lunch, then a mini musical marathon with Gargane, Max Collini and the Modena City Ramblers.

The morning conference reconstructs the story of the raid on 8 June 1944 in Soliera by the Germans. An ad hoc publication edited by the Fossoli Foundation of Carpi and the Municipality of Soliera will also be presented on this topic. A lunch will follow for which you can book on 059.567869.

Subsequently, starting from 2.30 pm, a large open-air concert with free entry will begin, where it will always be possible to dance and refresh yourself with fried dumplings and drinks. The Modena City Ramblers. The performance of the historic band from Modena, with over 30 years of concerts behind them, an integral part of the Altomare Tour, will not simply be a concert. For the occasion Dudu, Franco, Francesco, Leo and Massimo, the ‘commander’ Gianluca Spirito on plectrums and the new drummer Enrico Torreggiani they will propose an emotional journey through songs full of life, hope and courage: an experience that will awaken consciences and inflame souls.

Also on stage is the man from Reggio Emilia Max Colliniformer voice and lyricist of Offlaga Disco Pax, with his long-awaited monologue “Stories of anti-fascism without rhetoric”, based on the book of the same name co-written with Arturo Bertoldi, published by People. Collini tells stories that follow each other, tracing a picture of continuity that goes from the experience of opposition to the fascisms in power up to the suggestions of other continents, always grappling with the battles for true social justice and real progress for all. “Without rhetoric” because it is in simple, strong words, in concrete gestures of solidarity against barbarism, that the true meaning of anti-fascism lies.

Gargane it is instead the stage name of Andrea Garganesefrom whose need to build new expressive relationships this musical project was born in 2019.

The day takes place thanks to the collaboration between Arci Modena and Arci Soliera, Dude and Kalinka, Anpi, Cgil, Spi Cgil, Auser Soliera, Fondazione Campori, Fondazione Fossoli and Municipality of Soliera.
