A seismic swarm has been underway since 3.20 tonight in the Campi Flegrei area. The Vesuvian Observatory recorded 17 earthquakes with magnitudes between 0 and 2.5. This latest event occurred at 5:38 this morning. The municipal administration of Pozzuoli is following “closely the evolution of the ongoing seismic sequence” together with the Municipality’s Civil Protection and will provide subsequent updates until the phenomenon is concluded. “There is no damage, we are in the ordinary phase of bradyseism on yellow alert, I stick to the institutional channels, there are scientific and technical data from the relevant bodies that we respect” said Mayor Luigi Manzoni. “The planned activities that led to the adoption of the Campi Flegrei law decree are progressing in a synergistic way between the government, civil protection and local authorities, soon there will also be exercises for risk mitigation”, says the mayor of Pozzuoli. “Until a few days ago, the population was calmer, certainly the repeated earthquakes with significant magnitudes in the last few hours do not make us feel calm – explains the mayor -. As an administration we are providing information, we always explain the truth and the more we communicate, the more comfortable they are with respect to the absence of information”.
