The Vulture is preparing to welcome the new edition of the Basilicata International Film Festival (BIFF).

The appointment is scheduled for 10, 11 and 12 October 2024with an exciting preview in Rionero in August.

The 2024 edition was presented on Tuesday 16 April 2024 at the Sunset Digital Club.

Several guests will speak during the event, including Alberto Nigro, director, creator and artistic director of the BIFF, and Valentina Castelli, director, producer and member of the BIFF jury.

They will be screened short films, including “Internet Spartito” by director Matteo Cirillo, winner of the award for best screenplay, and “Connected” by director Enrico Bonino, winner of the “Basilicata in Corto” award.

Furthermore, they will be present the directors of the two short films: the author of “Connessa”, Mariandrea Cesari, and the leading actress Ilaria Antonello.

The BIFF is not just a film festival, but a catalyst for change, a beacon that illuminates the territory with the power of art and culture.

Artists and professionals from all over the world will converge in the evocative Vulture region to celebrate the transformative power of cinema.

The third edition of BIFF promises unparalleled emotions.

High-quality short films from around the world will be screened and awarded, offering audiences a journey through the diversity and originality of contemporary cinematic visions.

There jury, composed of experts in the sector, will have the task of selecting the most deserving works, awarding three main prizes per category and a special prize for the best overall short film. Only the top three in each category will have the honor of receiving a prize represented by a clap with the BIFF logo.

The o’spears submitted to the competition will not be forgotten after the festival, but will become part of the BIFF archive and its video library, used exclusively for cultural and non-profit purposes. Respect for artists’ copyrights is an absolute priority, thus ensuring recognition and protection of the works presented.
