It is serious that propaganda is carried out on a work of such importance, of such impact, of such expense without a valid updated project, without taking into account the critical issues, without having clarified the real impact on the economy and on the lives of the people in Sicily and Calabria”. The secretaries of the CGIL Sicily and Messina, Alfio Mannino and Pietro Patti, wrote this in a joint note. “Stop – they add – and work on the road and railway system of Sicily and Calabria, thus creating real development and employment and putting an end to the isolation of entire areas of Sicily”.
