BRINDISI – The Equal Opportunities Commission of the Municipality of Brindisi promotes the theatrical performance “InVIOLAta”, on 22 April 2024 at 8.30 pm at the Don Bosco theater in Via Appia, Brindisi and new production of SenzaConfine with the dramaturgy of Teresa Cecere and David Marzi, in support of the “Io Donna” Anti-Violence Center in Brindisi.

The idea came to fruition following the meeting with the playwright Teresa Cecere. The Commission itself, which has always been actively involved in raising awareness and information on the fight against gender violence and with the desire to give its contribution and support to anti-violence centers especially in this profoundly contradictory and dramatic historical moment which sees anti-violence centers penalized in their operation to provide support and protection to women and children.

This is why we invite citizens to participate and contribute to this noble cause through art and theatre.

The text was born from an analytical research operation, it also aims to be an anthropological cross-section of the condition of women from the 60s to today. She tells us how, on December 17, 1966, something changed in the history of women. It tells us the life of Franca Viola and through her story forces us to look inside a dark trapdoor in which lies, hidden, part of our culture, our legislation and our social heritage. Mafia, patriarchy, shame, honor are just some of the themes that will be explored in the approximately sixty minutes of representation.
