Sightings and problems relating to the presence of wild boars in the urban area of ​​Ancona continue.

Already on 30 March last year, the regional advisory group of the Democratic Party had presented a specific question on this topic and, in the Chamber, Councilor Antonini had responded by declaring that in 2021 a memorandum of understanding was adopted which saw the involvement of all the actors who have technical expertise in the matter and that the Region had made resources available to the Municipalities to purchase prevention equipment and capture cages.

The Protocol also provided for the strengthening of the Provincial Police both in terms of staff and resources, and also greater power to be assigned to the Mayors to be able to intervene and deal with this phenomenon. Nothing seems to have been done.

Among other things, the extraordinary plan proposed by the Meloni Government, also according to the Councillor, does not sufficiently develop strategies to combat the presence of wild boars in urban areas and the proposed regional law which was supposed to regulate control interventions in the areas nothing more was heard from the urban areas. Therefore, beyond some sporadic capture of ungulates, the situation still seems very critical, with substantial inaction on the part of the Region and Municipality. To further urge adequate and effective measures, today I filed a new question, hoping it will wake up those who should have intervened a long time ago from their torpor.
