Lombardy, 17 million allocated for mountain agriculture

The Lombardy Region’s call for tenders opened last Friday 5 April, allocating 17 million euros dedicated to mountain agriculture. This is the intervention “SRB01-Support for areas with natural mountain handicaps” envisaged as part of the 2023-2027 CAP.

Applications for the tender can be submitted through the SisCo portal until May 15th. The support is recognized to companies operating in the livestock and agricultural sectors located in the municipalities of areas classified as disadvantaged, including in the provinces of Bergamo, Brescia, Como, Lecco, Pavia, Sondrio and Varese.

The regional councilor for agriculture Alessandro Beduschi comments: “Important resources have been reserved for this year too, with the aim of supporting mountain agricultural and livestock activity. It is essential, in fact, to contribute to the protection of these fragile areas. This measure has allowed us to help around 4,800 companies in 2023, often characterized by small size and family management which, operating in mountainous contexts, with lower profitability, suffer more than the more structured plain realities of the current economic situation”.
