VENICE – The Superbonus does not find peace and with yet another change of direction I am now 2,327 construction sites in the regional territory are at risk, of which around 400 in the Venetian area. After the stop to the transfer of credits and discounts on invoices wanted by the Minister of Economy Giancarlo Giorgetti, now the construction business fabric and families are trembling. According to studies by Cna (National Confederation of Crafts and Small and Medium Enterprises) in Veneto, as of 29 February 2024, 2,327 construction sites are still in place out of a total of 58,187 buildings involved. Values which, spread across the Venetian provincial territory, are in line according to the estimates produced by the metropolitan secretary of Cna edili Venezia Loris Pancino: «There are around 400 construction sites including condominiums and single-family homes that risk remaining blocked. A difficulty that has cascading repercussions on builders, window and door fitters, installers and all the companies involved.”

Pancino himself clarifies that this phenomenon risks overwhelming companies and individuals: «This is a significant economic impact, which involves a significant number of families who find themselves with an unfinished home and with difficulty completing it, if not through other forms. financing”. As regards businesses, however: «They risk not being paid, in a vicious circle that creates major problems. A system is being blocked which will create severe liquidity problems, with repercussions on suppliers, employees and so on.” The thoughts of Cna Veneto president Moreno De Col are in line: «Once again we find ourselves faced with a sudden and unexpected change of direction by the Government. The announcement caused alarm among all operators and companies in the sector who feared an immediate block on existing and not yet completed works. While waiting for the decree to be further defined, it would seem that this further tightening does not refer to what is still being implemented, but we certainly cannot say we are calm given that in the troubled life of the Superbonus, sudden changes of direction by the Government have already occurred manifest yourself.”

The hope is that a final definition will be found at least for the construction sites in progress: «We are therefore awaiting the definitive decree, but we ask for continuity with regards to the works in the execution phase according to the regulations granted, hoping that this intervention, which in fact puts a final point to the Superbonus, does not further penalize businesses and families”.
