In any case, these criminal and personal aspects are of little interest to us. For us it has always been a political question first and foremost: whoever has governed in the last 25 years, and therefore not only the last administration, but also the previous ones of the centre-right, has ignored the presence and rooting of organized crime in the area, despite the many unmistakable signals and the many complaints made by citizens, associations and opposition political forces.
We remember that, while acts of intimidation were carried out against politicians and administrators, while investigations prior to “Tritone” (“Malasuerte”, “Evergreen”, “Touchdown”, the “Appia” and “Mithos” trials) clearly described relations between the mafia and politics, we were called “mentally disturbed” by the then Mayor Bruschini for simply trying to bring these facts to the attention of public opinion and politics.
The investigations and the dissolution of the municipality of Anzio later proved us right, but now we need to put in place a real alternative to all this.”
