In its fifth edition, the appointment with the rich cultural programming offered to Romans and tourists visiting the city on the first day of the new year proves to be increasingly solid and widespread. This year, Capodarte pays homage the 80th anniversary of the Constituent Assembly and the fundamental values that inspired the drafting of the Italian Constitution in 1946.

Once again, the event promoted by Roma Capitale will propose over 100 events, almost all free, touching all 15 municipalities of the cityto entertain and involve citizens, with the further objective of honoring the path of freedom which, resulting from the struggle for liberation from Nazi-fascism, laid the foundations for the foundation of our democracy (10 thousand copies of the Italian Constitution will also be distributed free of charge during the day).
And there are four of them cultural itineraries proposed by Capitoline Superintendence of Cultural Heritage to discover or rediscover the history of some symbolic places of the city, each ideally linked to an article of the Constitutional Charter: at 11.30 am, Villa Borghese: from the prince’s garden to the Roman Park and at 3pm Two thousand years of history around Porta Maggiore (both dedicated to art. 9); at 12, Rome: places of meeting and welcoming (s. 3); go 14, The bombings of San Lorenzo on 19 July 1943 (art. 11). Furthermore, at 3pm and 4pm, visit the Bunker of Villa Torlonia.

But Capodarte, as usual, will first and foremost be celebration and entertainment, inhabiting squares, museums, theaters and public spaces, with three large stages, in particular, a Piazza Navona – for an afternoon of comedy and a tango evening in the impromptu milonga of Daiana Guspero and Miguel Ángel Zotto – Prenestina Ramp – for the live music of Margherita Vicario, Villa Ada Posse, Linda Stabilini and Colle der Fomento – and on square of the Acilia stationbetween K-Pop and breakdance, waiting for the rap concert by Piotta, Nesli, Beba and Jelecrois.

Capodarte 2026, between cinema, music and reading
Allo Scene Space of Trastevere, we will celebrate in the company of Italian cinema “of yesterday and today”: a tribute to Gian Maria Volontè is planned with the screening of the film The terrorist by Gianfranco De Bosio, and then There’s still tomorrow by Paola Cortellesi (edited by Fondazione Roma Lazio Film Commission).
