A place of aggregation, characterized by that popular feeling that only Rome can boast. And if the square bears the name of Franco Califano, a popular singer-songwriter who passed away ten years ago, it is worth even more.
This afternoon, Tuesday 14 May, the dedication ceremony will take place in the new square located on via Ferruccio Amendola, inside Casale Nei, in the third municipality of Rome. And it was a real party, with close friends performing on stage.
The square, born from a motion signed by the municipal councilor of the League, Fabrizio Santori, was immediately strongly supported by the Campidoglio and the Franco Califano Foundation, directed by the president Antonello Mazzeo with the collaboration of the cultural association “Le Officine della Musica” .
“This is the best way to celebrate a great artist – explains the mayor of Rome, Roberto Gualtieri, who also played the guitar on stage for the occasion. “I hope it is a popular and lived-in square, even by the younger ones – says an emotional Silvia, daughter of the singer-songwriter -, this is what dad would like”.
