Come back Eurovision Song Contestthe most watched non-sporting television event in the world: the 2024 edition will be staged from Malmö Arena in Sweden from 7 to 11 May, hosted by Petra Mede – which the European public has already known in the latest Swedish editions of Eurovision (2013 and 2016) – and by the actress Malin Åkerman. It is the seventh time that Eurovision is held in Sweden thanks to the seven victories of the Scandinavian country (a competition record tied with Ireland). For the city of Malmö it is the third edition after those of 1992, when Mia Martini was there for Italy, and 2013, when Marco Mengoni represented our country (in 2024 the winner of Sanremo Angelina Mango). The two semi-finals will be broadcast Tuesday 7 and Thursday 9 May in prime time on Rai 2starting from 9pm (they will be preceded by two previews from 8.15pm to 8.30pm). Saturday 11 May instead, at 8.40 pm, Rai 1 will broadcast the final evening. There will be comments on the event for the Italian public Mara Maionchi and Gabriele Corsi. It will also be possible to follow the three events on RaiPlay and in simulcast on Rai Radio 2 and on digital terrestrial Channel 202. This year the simulcast commentary will be on Rai Radio 2 by Diletta Parlangeli and Matteo Osso.
