The two agricultural towers
«The testing of the gym of the Garibaldi agricultural institute in Macerata, where the seismic adaptation works have been completed, will be carried out at the beginning of next week». This is what the Province says.
The interventions, for a total amount of 524 thousand euros entrusted to Rti Ardeatina Appalti srl and Tecnia Appalti srl, they envisaged, on the one hand, the restoration of the existing structure in order to preserve its mechanical characteristics; on the other, the realization of a new steel structure consisting of two towers, with the aim of absorbing the horizontal forces due to seismic action, in order to obtain the adaptation of the structure.
«To date – explains the Province – all the works foreseen by the project have been completed: the construction of the two towers, the construction of new braced steel frames located in the changing room area which will allow the stress on the existing structure to be reduced and it has been the confinement of the nodes and reinforcement of the beams and pillars through their casing were also completed for cases in which the existing structure was inadequate”.

«Given the demolition works that affected the majority of the rooms, furthermore – continues the Province – the total restyling of the changing room area was carried out, through the adaptation of all the technological environments present, replacement of the floors and internal doors, including the gym floor. While waiting for the testing which will be carried out between Monday and Tuesday, the cadastral plans and all the necessary documentation for the request for usability to the Municipality of Macerata are being updated. At the moment the gym is fully usable internally, while temporary renovation works are planned externally, in view of the construction of the adjacent new gym”.
