On the occasion of the 23rd National Relief Day, promoted by the Ministry of Health and the national foundation “Gigi Ghirotti”, the Ast of Macerata symbolically adheres to the initiative. An awareness raising morning on the relief of suffering and the treatment of chronic pain is scheduled for Saturday 25 May from 8am to 2pm.

30 free specialist visits for pain therapy will be made available, both at the Macerata and Civitanova hospitals, to book you need to call 0733-2572826 or send an email to:[email protected].

«More than 14 years have passed since law 38/2010, containing provisions to guarantee access to Palliative Care and Pain Therapy, in our region the regional and corporate network of pain therapy and Palliative Care exists. Having help to relieve pain is a right, since the majority of painful syndromes are treatable and it is always possible to have support from professionals, doctors and nurses to turn to”, he declares Giampiero di Serafino, director of the Pain Therapy Unit of the Macerata hospital and coordinator of the regional table on the subject.

Saturday morning will not only be a time for specialist visits, but also an opportunity to provide useful information to citizens. The visits will be carried out in the pain therapy clinic located on the sixth floor of the Macerata hospital, while in the Civitanova hospital on the ground floor in the multifunctional clinic.
