The FitUp gym in Mortara had site in Strada Pavese, in the agglomeration of commercial settlements where the Lidl discount store is also present. For three days he has closed its doors informing users with a generic sign “Closed for organizational reasons until date to be determined”. The sign remained immediately, but today, Monday, everything is covered with sheets of paper, and the writing above the door has been up side down. To join this gym you needed a annual subscription. A formula that was used for build loyalty its members, with the aim of keeping prices low. The cost was on average 350 euros. However, those who only partially benefited from it lost the remaining part. For this reason, a social group called “Closure FitUp Mortara” which has already collected two hundred memberships. It intends to bring a class-action lawsuit seeking compensation. They explain in the group: «For some time the management of this gym leaves a desirebut today we have truly reached rock bottom (…) I propose to spread as possible and as quickly as possible the mission of this public group to do join everyone those who as members reasonably feel “ripped off”. Some of them, it turns out, were invited to renew until the day before closing. The group proposes an action «we will see if it is of any kind civil or criminal».

The fortunes of the gym were shaky already since the first days of March. They had been there warnings of problems and on March 12th they had been courses suspended. But that only happened temporarily, as they left again the following week. The collapse three days agowhen the gym has closed. In the meantime, always using a social message, Davide Diamante spoke in a video as trademark owner FitUp, explaining: «Unfortunately the Mortara headquarters are not ours, but the company New Fit srl (…). They have not been agreements complied with taken two months ago and we don’t want to continue being made fun of, that’s why we decided to leave management which remains in the hands of that company. We are mortified, anyone who wants to come into the headquarters in Vigevano it is welcome provided you have a multi-club membership.” Diamante also explains that he has lawyers who are following this procedure and that he can share their name with whoever requests it.
