Around a hundred people went to the vaccination hub in Via Dante in Cremona on Sunday morning. to carry out pediatric vaccines or to book oncological screenings: an initiative promoted by the Cremona axis as part of World Health Day.

A day in which we chose to focus on prevention, with 4 active boxes for childhood and adolescence vaccinationsin which children and young people took part “who for various reasons had not yet managed to have the required vaccinations” underlines the doctor Antonella Laiolodirector of the complex Vaccination and Infectious Diseases Surveillance Structure of the Cremona Asst.

That’s not all: during the day it was also possible book oncological screenings, thanks to the presence of some operators from Ats Val Padana. “Based on the screening offer criteria, citizens were able to book checks for breast, cervical and colon cancer, and screening for hepatitis C”.

Prevention is essential to avoid numerous pathologies, or to deal with them at an early stage. “It is always said that prevention is better than cure” underlines Laiolo. “A sacrosanct truth: there are many tumors that, caught early, can be treated much more successfully“.

But prevention is also important in the context of infections, “such as tetanus, diphtheria, meningitis, pneumococcus. All pathologies that allow us to avoid pathologies that can even be fatal” concludes the doctor.
