Each seed is energy in potential: the embryo of a new plant or, in a broad sense, a new idea of the future for the garden and the planet. THE seeds – fundamental elements for the survival of life on Earth and a topic at the forefront of the current debate on adaptation to climate change – I’m at the center of the XXXII spring edition of the Three Days for the Garden, scheduled from Friday 3 to Sunday 5 May 2024 to the Masino Castle and ParkGood of FAI-Italian Environment Fund ETS to Caravino (TO).
During the market exhibition, one of the most important and appreciated horticultural events in our country, the public will be able to discover the latest innovations over one hundred nurserymen from all over Italy and beyond the Alps. The presence of highly specialized exhibitors – which they will propose new plants and ideas to create a natural and eco-sustainable garden – will allow you to delve deeper the knowledge and importance of seeds.
A full program of technical demonstrations, workshops, conferences and meetings held by experts and enthusiasts in the sector, it will make not only the cultivation and care of greenery accessible to visitors of all ages, but also the philosophy of rewildingwhich in 2024 will be the common thread of both editions of the Three dayscurated by Emanuela Orsi Borio.
Transforming a conventional garden into a nature-friendly garden or, better, in a re-naturalized garden it is a question of choices and actions within everyone’s reach: this is the message that the organisers, exhibitors and speakers of the Three days they are committed to broadcasting in 2024. Conserve seeds and efficient ecosystems it means guarantee biodiversity and the free expression of nature: in the seed and its genetic heritage, in fact, new and precious qualitative information is stored which awaits to be brought to light to ensure the survival of many animal and plant species and adaptation to climate change.
Re-naturalize is the watchword and is realized with the “step aside” of man, making use of natural energies rather than opposing them. It means learning to let natural and ecological processes get back into motion, recognizing their value and right to evolve spontaneously and autonomously according to one’s own inventiveness, logic and dynamics. This represents the only viable path for the survival of the Earth and all life forms that inhabit it. During Three days of May and October 2024 it will be possible to understand how this “step aside” of man is not synonymous with inactivity but with informed, conscious and far-sighted industriousness.
