A few hours after the news of the disposition of the psychiatric report against Antonio Monticelli, another piece of news arrived which could worsen the position of the 60-year-old originally from Verona investigated in a state of freedom after the discovery of his mother’s body in an advanced state of decomposition in a house in Aprica.

In fact, he died in Sondrio hospital Giorgio Monticellithe man’s 90-year-old father, who had been hospitalized for a week in the Intensive Care Unit in very serious conditions, so much so that his right leg had been amputated after it had become gangrenous.

The 90-year-old was found in a state of malnutrition in bed next to his wife’s body on Friday 12 April by the police, who had received some reports from neighbors. The two had moved to Aprica after the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic, and remained there even after the emergency was over.

Antonio, the son, is now found hospitalized in the Psychiatry department: the man is unemployed, although in Verona he would have claimed to be a university professor, and was making a living with the support of his parents’ pensions: for him the crime hypothesis is abandonment of an incompetent person and concealment of a corpse, aggravated by family ties.
