The history of the former Alitalia headquarters

The former Alitalia business center was inaugurated in 1991. At the time it was a cutting-edge business center with five buildings connected to each other by a series of tunnels, thanks to which it was possible to move from one building to another while remaining always within the structures. Inside there were also two auditoriums, a press room, a canteen for over 1000 people, parking for over 3000 cars and the partial reconstruction of an airplane cabin and the flight simulator of a B747 with external control panel.

The former headquarters of the old national airline Alitalia has been in a state of abandonment for fifteen years. Following the crisis that hit it, in 2002 Alitalia sold the complex to a real estate holding company, remaining rented until the end of 2008, when the management center was completely decommissioned, with the exception of building A which was reused as an office location by some multinationals. The center today is in a state of complete abandonment and degradation also due to the fires that affected some buildings in the complex between 2019 and 2020.
