«I broke my foot on stage. I would like serenity, being an actress can make you lose your center”

On the stage of the Brancaccio Theatre, the Roman actress Sofia Panizzi continues to thrill audiences, along with the other actors in the cast, as expected from the long-running hit musical comedy “Add a Seat at the Table.” The character she plays in the show scheduled up to and including January 11th, and then continuing with the tour, is that of Clementinethe young daughter of the mayor madly in love with Don Silvestro, played by Giovanni Scifoni, who we find together with the special guest Lorella Cuccarini, Consolazione sul stage. And while scenes of feats to be accomplished follow one another, between floods and arks to be built, the artist already known for having acted in the films “I told you so” and “Finally l’alba”, talks about herself in “Leggo di te” between dear themes and places of the heart, fantasies and aspirations.

Who is Sofia Panizzi?

«A young woman who has just turned 28 (and perhaps this is why she doesn’t know if she can still call herself a girl) who has always been driven by a great curiosity towards people and the world, and who can’t wait to see what else life has in store for her».

The ritual or the anti-bad luck object?

«I can say that after breaking my foot on stage, now, before going on stage and starting the show, I always blow a kiss to that little bone that I broke».

The most expensive topic?

«The sensation of feeling out of place and the attempt to eliminate this gap through art, in different forms».

The place of the heart?

«My grandparents’ mountain house in Trentino Alto-Adige. That valley is my refuge and there are so many memories of my childhood there.”

The thing you would like but isn’t for sale?

«Serenity, a bit of inner peace.

The work I do often exposes me to the risk of losing my center.”

The biggest fear?

«Of not being up to the situations or expectations of others».

What if I were an animal?

“I would like to be a fox or an animal that can fly, but my mother has always told me that I remind her of a cat.”

The dish that never tires?

«I love chicory. If I’m hungry and I close my eyes, I always imagine eating rustic pizza with chicory.”

A passion-obsession?

«The passion for words. I like looking for new words that I don’t know, enriching my vocabulary and trying to explain myself in the most multifaceted way possible.”

What makes your heart beat?

«When something I do manages to move, in particular, loved ones, my family, my friends».
