Un quiet lunch at the restaurant? Not if your name is Quentin Tarantino. But, this time, the Oscar-winning director was not interrupted by some annoying fans, but by one pro-Palestine protester who started to insult him while he was eating in a New York local. The activist and influencer, known on social media as “Crackhead Barney,” addressed insults to the filmmaker, accusing him of being a “Zionist piece of s…”. He then attempted to approach her table, but she was promptly stopped by restaurant staff.
The insults to Quentin Tarantino
During the altercation, the activist asked Tarantino: “Are you going to Israel?”. The director chose to do not respond to provocations. In 2018, the director he married Daniella Pick, Israeli singer and model as well as daughter of singer-songwriter Svika Pick. The couple has two children and divides their time between Tel Aviv and Las Vegas. Last October, Quentin Tarantino has visited an Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) base as a sign of support for the troops engaged in the conflict against Hamas in Gaza.
In the meantime, outside the club, a group had gathered crowd of pro-Palestinian demonstrators. As Tarantino left the restaurant, the activist “Crackhead Barney,” of African American origin, continued with his tirade against the director. She exposed her breasts and continued to insult the filmmaker, challenging him to pronounce the so-called N-wordnow banned from common speech in the United States because it is racist, but often used by characters in Quentin Tarantino’s films.
Run away
The Oscar winner had an iron temper. He avoided causing further trouble by not saying a word and that was it escorted by security to the car parked outside the club. At that point, the protesters multiplied the insults and, to challenge him further, they placed their feet on the window of the car. As the American newspapers explain, it is a gesture that refers to the filmography by Tarantino, in the past accused of fetishism for the close-ups of the feet in some of his films.
