What a collapse for the career of the former Mediaset presenter: from Canale 5 to local TV, you will never guess where she will go to work
After the death of Silvio Berlusconi in 2023, the reins of Mediaset have been definitively taken over by his son Pier Silvio. The 55-year-old entrepreneur immediately wanted to shake up the television station by announcing the departure of some historical figures and the closure of some programs.

A real earthquake therefore which saw the sudden departure of prominent presenters, such as Barbara D’Urso, Ilary Blasi and Belen Rodriguez. Social media users went wild, with the majority proving satisfied with the choice made by the CEO.
Even programs like Big Brother have suffered a significant drop in ratings, a clear sign of growing dissatisfaction on the part of viewers towards content deemed to be uneducational, both for adults and for younger people. Despite this choice, programs of the same type (Temptation Island and Island of the Famous) are still on the schedule.
In memory of my father
While the corporate upheaval is underway, Mediaset never stops remembering the founder of this important telecommunications company in Italy. One year after the death of Silvio Berlusconi, in the Cologno Monzese studios his son Pier Silvio commemorated him with these words:
“My father was, is, love of life, love of family, love of work. Unconditional love for his country,” he declared, without hiding his emotion, in front of the company’s employees.
From Mediaset to Sicily
Barbara D’Urso returns to TV after being excluded from Mediaset? It’s still too early to say, but in the meantime the former presenter has reappeared on the web through TikTok by collaborating with a production company. But here suddenly comes an indiscretion: here she is again on TV… on TeleSud! It is a local Sicilian broadcaster and the voice comes directly from the president of Trapani Calcio, Valerio Antonini, during an interview on the channel itself.
Antonini revealed that Barbara D’Urso could soon host a public event financed by the football club and that a possible television collaboration is also being discussed in the future. Apparently the step from Mediaset to TeleSud is short, what is certain is that the beautiful Neapolitan would accept the role…”with her heart!”.
