“I’m going back to swimming for myself. I would like a woman in my life”

Manuel Bortuzzo will return to compete. The swimmer, former Big Brother VIP contestant in 2021, will participate in the Paris 2024 Paralympics in summer. The goal is to return home with a medal and resume his sporting career after the accident that involved him in 2019, when he was accidentally hit by a gunshot intended for another person.

“After the accident, I felt very tired external pressure to try to compete again”, Bortuzzo said when interviewed by the weekly Today. The swimmer, however, preferred to take time for himself and face when it happened to him. “I was a good story to tell, but I had to deal with internal knots that had nothing to do with the possibility of swimming again. The more they asked me, the less I liked it”, has explained. For this reason, over the years, he has also tried a television experience, that of GF Vip in 2021, which helped him achieve a very specific awareness:

I did a thousand other things until I felt the desire to swim, for myself and not to prove something or please someone. He taught me that there are many worlds and left me with the awareness of what I really want, which compromises I am willing to make and which I am not.
