Tony Colombo remains in prison. This is what the Court of Cassation decided and rejected the appeal presented by the neo-melodic artist. Colombo was arrested last October 17 on charges of external complicity in a mafia association.

Nothing to do for Tony Colombo, famous Neapolitan neo-melodic singer who was arrested on October 17th by the police on charges of external complicity in a mafia association. The Court of Cassation decided to reject the appeal presented by the artist’s lawyers.
Antonino Colombo, known as Tony, born in 1986, he began his career as a singer very young, at just 8 years old, recording the piece “A villeggiante”. A year later she started her first European tour and in 1995 she took part in a show at the Assago Forum in Milan. The following years were full of satisfaction for him, who in 2001 received the revelation of the year award from Leoluca Orlando, mayor of Palermo at the time and the following year he reached the semi-finals at the Sanremo song academy with L ‘soul.
In 2010 he signed his first contract with Warner Music Italia, then taking part in the selections for Sanremo 2010 with Another love inside you, but failing to overcome them. The following year she founded Dea Sound, a recording company, with Luca Barbato, and two years later she recorded the album produced by Seamusica. Popularity with the general public arrives in 2014 when he joined the cast of the tenth edition of Dancing with the Stars. In 2020, therefore, he announced on social media his intention to retire from the world of music.

Last October, therefore, Tony is arrested, and begins his detention at the Secondigliano prison, while his wife Tina Rispoli is incarcerated in the Pozzuoli prison. The blitz against the Di Lauro clan from Secondigliano triggered the handcuffs on the couple’s wrists. The interventions of the lawyers Paolo Trofino and Carmine Foreste, who had presented a request for revocation of the precautionary measure and the application of house arrest outside Campania, were of no avail.

Already the Review Court had confirmed the choice of prison, hence the request to appeal to the Court of Cassation. The latter, however, had considered these requests unfounded, due to a total sharing of intentions. “These are subjects who, although not permanently belonging to a mafia family, are included in the criminal dynamics of the Scampia-Secondigliano clans. There is also an extreme danger deduced from the constant persistence of inclusion in illicit contexts” we read in the Court’s motivation pages.
