Not much is known, it’s true, about Renato’s love affairs. But what is known is worth telling.

Before meeting the love of his life, the little more than a teenager Renato Zero he tied himself for some time to Enrica Bonaccorti. It was a short love, which lasted two years, but very intense. So much so that at a certain point they both thought about getting married. “With Renato We even decided to get married.”said Bonaccorti, “after a couple of years we broke up and everyone moved back in, me with the man who would become my husband. They have always been around rumors about alleged homosexuality by Renato Zero. He does not have never came out, and has repeatedly denied the rumors by stating that he only feels real attraction towards women. “I declared myself homosexual once to avoid military service”he had revealed slyly in the past, “but in reality I am made of very different stuff”. Then adding, in another interview: “If a man came and caused me a formidable trauma I don’t see what would be wrong with that to be together.”

Rumors aside, in 2003 Zero decided togive birth to a son, Roberto Anselmi Fiacchiniwhich then made him the grandfather of two beautiful granddaughters, Virginia and Ada. Marriage will never have been among his priorities, therefore. But family is certainly at the center of his life.
