Prince Harry has formalized his renunciation of British residence, inevitable after his break from the royal family in 2020 and his move to the USA with his wife Meghan. In doing so, in a document filed this week at Companies House, the British companies register, he gave the date as June 29 last year. Not just any date, but the very day on which the Sussexes had to definitively give up their residence at Frogmore Cottage (the royal Windsor estate where they stayed during the periods spent in the United Kingdom) following the “eviction” decided by King Charles.
The date of June 29th is a signal to Harry and William
This was made known by the Sun tabloid, which publishes the document containing the date of the transfer and relating to Travalyst, a non-profit organization for eco-sustainable travel founded by Harry in 2019. According to the tabloid, which cites the writer and expert by royals Phil Dampier, being ousted from Frogmore Cottage has “deeply hurt” the Duke of Sussex. Harry thus wanted to send a strong signal to his father but also to his brother William, with whom relations have been conflicting for some time, underlining how the date of the “eviction” effectively forced him to concentrate his life in the USA, no longer having a foothold in the Kingdom.
